"PRECIOUS MEMORIES" WAS WRITTEN IN 1925 BY J.B.F. WRIGHT.  HE WAS BORN IN TENNESSEE IN 1877.  HE HAD NO SONGWRITING EDUCATION.  HE SAID WHATEVER GOD INSPIRED HIM TO WRITE,  HE DID JUST THAT.

WILLIE NELSON IS SINGING ALL OF THE VERSES OF
"PRECIOUS MEMORIES."

AT THE JOHNNY AND JUNE CARTER CASH MEMORIAL, WILLIE NELSON SANG THIS BELOVED HYMN.
IT WAS RECORDED LIVE.  TEARS STREAMED
DOWN WILLIE'S FACE AS HE SANG.

Precious memories, unseen angels,
Sent from somewhere to my soul.
How they linger, ever near me,
And the sacred past unfolds.

Precious memories, how they linger,
And, how they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.
Precious father, loving mother,
Fly across the lonely years.
And old home scenes of my childhood,
In fond memory appears.

Precious memories, how they linger,
And, how they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Echoes from the past I hear.
Old time singing, gladness bringing,
From that lovely land somewhere.

Precious memories, how they linger,
And, how they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.
As I travel on life's pathway,
Know not what the years may hold.
As I ponder, hope grows fonder,
Precious memories flood my soul.

Precious memories, how they linger,
And, how they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight,
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.
